Food coalition members include all farmers, ranchers, businesses, individuals, and organizations in the West Central Mountains (WCM) interested in growing the local food system and economy. As a member of the WCM Food Coalition (WCMFC) I pledge to do one or more of the following:
- Add my local farm, ranch, or CSA to the USDA Food Directory webpage (if applicable). https://www.ams.usda.gov/services/local-regional/food-directories-update
- Shop local at least six times a year by supporting the local farmers market, local butcher, local barter or trade, u- pick, or join a local Community Supported Agriculture subscription (CSA).
- Grow local food in a garden (home, community garden, greenhouse, hoop house, etc.)
- Volunteer at a local food bank or pantry to serve or distribute participants fresh food items.
- Serve local produce at my restaurant, special event, or catering business (if applicable).
- Organize local food swaps and/or other neighborhood events to celebrate the abundance of local produce during the summer (every now and then we have a bumper year!).
- I will attend the Regional Annual Fall Meet n’ Greet Potluck Dinner to celebrate and network with other residents/farmers/organizations in the WCMFC interested in strengthening the local food system.
